Adolph Schoech, 75, Pioneer of County, Passes Away Sunday
Adolplh Schoech, pioneer resident of Jefferson county, died at his home in the Ralston creek community, Sunday, March 2, of a heart ailment. He had been in failing health for the last six months. Mr. Schoceh was born in Ottumwa, Ia., February 1, 1866, one of a family of ten, four of whom survive him. He came to Colorado to the home of his uncle, Joe Schoech in Ralston valley in 1887, and for several years was engaged in school teaching and farming nearby. He was married to Carrie Bunney of Ralston creek, whose death occurred in 1903. In 1907, he was united in marriage to Eva Conn, of Ottumwa, Ia and they continued their residence in this county. Mr. Schoech was in charge of the farming deportment at the State Industrial School for Boys for twentytwo years, retiring from active work there in October 1936. After his retirement he resided in Golden for a short time and later moved to his home in the Ralston community. He was a member of Enterprise grange and had received his silver certificate for twenty-five years' membership. He had been a faithful member of the Golden Baptist church for thirty-five years and attended service there two weeks ago. Mr. Schoech is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Schoech; three daughters, Mrs. Fred Theobold, Victor, Colo., Mrs. J. H. Harper, Yonkers, N. Y., and Mrs. Francis B. Rizzari, Lakewood, Colo.; one son, Robret Sehoech. Lakewood, Colo.; three brothers, Walter and Joe Schoech, Blakesburg, Ia. and Herman Sehoech, Franklin, Calif.; one sister. Mrs. C. A. Shields. Wichita, Kan.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a nephew, Arthur A. Schoech, Golden and a niece, Mrs. Mary McKee, Denver. Funeral services were held from the Woods Mortuary chapel at 2:00 p. m.. Wednesday, with Rev. J. F. Starr, pastor of the Golden Baptist church officiating. Interment was in Golden cemetery. The pallbearers were Frank Owens, J. H. Son, William Boyd, John Morris, Andrew Eke, and Joseph Spykstra
