Tad Allen, 40, of Unionville, MO, passed away suddenly at his home in rural Putnam County on Thursday, February 26, 2009. William heath "Tad" Allen was born June 12, 1968 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Roger and Peggy(Harris)Allen. He was reared in the Green City, MO, and Unionville area where he graduated from Putnam County R-1 High School in 1986. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served until being honorably discharged. Upon leaving the service he worked as a heavy equipment operator in the Kansas City area with McAnnch Construction. He left that company to operate his own plumbing business and then later worked for Schoonover and Weston in Unionville. He worked once again for McAnnich until joining Welded Construction to run a bull dozer for laying natural gas lines. On October 11, 2003 Tad married Christy Ray in Centerville, IA, and she survives at home. Also surviving are two sons, Justin Allen of Kahoka, MO, and Christopher Allen of Unionville, MO and a daughter, Madison Allen, also of Unionville, MO. Tad's mother, Peggy Brummitt, of Unionville, MO, survives as well as two sisters, Tori Schumake and husband Jim of Hannibal, MO, and Sisteen Stripling of Kansas City, KS. Tad is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Janice Ray of Unionville, MO. Tad was a friendly and outgoing person who knew everyone. He liked to hunt,(especially spring turkey season and coyotes), fish (he enjoyed hand fishing)and trap game. He was a loving father who enjoyed the quiet moments at home. Tad was preceded in death by his father and by his step-father, Bob Brummitt. A time of paying tribute to Tad's memory was held Sunday afternoon at the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home with a visitation preceding. Tad's wishes were to be cremated. Memorials are suggested to the family.
