Gladstone resident Eugenia "Jean" T. Simmons died on Aug. 2, 2010, at age 89.

She was born on March 17, 1921, in Onaka, S. D., to parents William Riemath and Geneva Staley. She grew up in Firesteel, S. D., and graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1938. She had lived in Gladstone for 40 years.

She was a member of the Oregon City Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star and the Elks Auxiliary in Oregon City. She had been employed as a pharmacist helper and was a homemaker. Her hobbies included painting.

She is survived by: daughter, Barbara Williams; son, John Baillie; stepsons, Ken and David Simmons; brother, Wayne Riemath; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: first husband, Robert Baillie; second husband, Alton Simmons; sister, Kathleen Blyethe; brother, Don Riemath; and son, William R. Baillie.

A private funeral was held on Aug. 7, with interment at Mt. View Cemetery.
