Hattie Lewis

Hattie Mae Lewis, 94 formerly of 1510 Willow, died Wednesday evening (Aug. 3, 1988) in Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Lewis was born July 13, 1894, in Cherryvale to Henry William and Emma (Thomas) Behner. On Feb. 7, 1911 she married Jesse William Lewis in Independence. They made their home in Cherryvale until moving to Coffeyville in 1919. Mr. Lewis was retired custodian for Coffeyville Community Junior College and Unified School District 445. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1967. Survivors include four sons, Glen William, Delbert Earl, Roy Dean and Babe Chester, all of Coffeyville: two daughters, Gertrude Elsie Evans of Holiday, Fla., and Maxine Grace Pike of Wichita: 19 Grandchildren: 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Colonial Chapel until 9 a.m. Friday. The family will be meeting in the home of a son, B.C. Lewis, 713 W. 10th.
