Roy was the son of William Lewis and Pearl Luster Bowers.Roy was a deaf mute and couldn't hear or speak from about the age of 6 years. His handicap I'm sure was much worse than he let on to be. He married Edith Galloway. He did not let his handicap keep him from holding a steady job, driving a car, going fishing and other things he enjoyed. He was a very sweet man and I miss him. I regret that I never learned to sign to him. Roy & his family lived most of their lives in Little Rock but he requested to be brought back to Batesville for burial. Why Roselawn was decided upon rather than Oaklawn where other family members are buried I don't know. Roselawn is a very beautiful cemetery just north of Batesville a few miles. Roy was 85 years old when he died.
