Ruth Aydelotte
Formerly of Union
1918-2010

Ruth A. Aydelotte, 92, formerly of Union, died Aug. 2 in Los Alemitos (sic), Calif. A private graveside service is set for Monday at the Prairie City Cemetery.

Ruth was born July 10, 1918, to Opal R. (McMinds) Holland and G. Leslie Holland at the Oliver Ranch in John Day. She attended school in John Day.

Ruth and Alva (Tunny) G. Aydelotte married Aug. 25, 1935. During their 44 years of marriage, the couple lived in the Prairie City, Baker, Union and Pendleton areas.

She is survived by daughter, Juanita L. Aydelotte of La Quinta, Calif.; son, Jerry R. Aydelotte of Portland; sister-in-law, Pauline Holland; and multiple nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grandnephews from both the Aydelotte and Holland families. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Alva; her parents; step-father, William "Bud" Goodwin; step-mother, Josephine (Landrum) Holland; brother, G. Robert Holland; and sister, Marjorie A. Holland.

Memorial contributions may be made to any local charity in care of Driskill Memorial Chapel, 241 S. Canyon Blvd, John Day 97845.
