DAREL A. BAKER DIED EARLY TODAY

Darel A. Baker, 48, of 612 Montgomery died this morning at Battle Creek's Arrowood Nurshing Home following a year-long illness.

He was born Jan. 10, 1927, in Springport, the son of Roy J. and Ida Mae Wickman Baker. He was a twin brother to Donald Archie Baker. He was a life-long resident of Marshall.

Surviving him are seven brothers, Gerald W., Kenneth C., Keith D., Cecil L., and Donald A. Baker, all of Marshall, plus John P. of Jackson and James J. Baker of Daytona Beach, Fla.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Waldo (Marion) Belote of Tekonsha; Mrs. Lester (Marguerite) Bowers of Long Lake; Mrs. Kenneth (Gertrude) Scheick of Ceresco; and Mrs. Jack (Julia) Curry of Litchfield. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Court-Putnam Funeral Home with the Rev. H.H. Kasten of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at Rice Creek Cemetery.
