Mrs. George Fletcher, 77, Route 1, Plover, died at St. Michael's Hospital at 12:20 p.m. on Friday, shortly after she was admitted as a patient. She had suffered a heart attack at her home in the town of Buena Vista and was taken to the hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Boston Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lyndon Viel of the Buena Vista Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be made later in the Liberty Corners Cemetery.

Mrs. Fletcher, the former Ester Sitzer, was born in the town of Stockton on Dec. 3, 1897, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Sitzer. The family moved to Stevens Point in 1908, and she completed the primary course at the Stevens Point Normal School, now the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, in 1917. The taught two years in the city schools at Clintonville following her graduation.

She was married to George Fletcher in Stevens Point on Dec. 17, 1919, and they farmed in the town of Buena Vista until they retired in the early 1960s.

Mrs. Fletcher was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Buena Vista Methodist Church for many years. She had served as secretary of the organization for several years and was treasurer from 1929 until 1965. She also was a member of Arbutus Chapter No. 52, Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are her husband; four sons, Randall, Orfordville, and Marvin, Maurice and Norman, all of the town of Buena Vista; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Lynn (Myrtle) Grover and Miss Willmina Sitzer, both of 1809 Fremont St.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister and a grandson.

A memorial has been established in her name. Friends may call at the Boston Funeral Home after 3 p.m. on Sunday.
