GLENITH MARIE LEGG PARKER
Funeral services for Mrs. Glenith Parker, 79, of Wharton, Tx. will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 at the Peace Tabernacle Church in Wharton with Brother Fisher officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Palacios Cemetery in Palacios, Tx.

Mrs. Parker was born on Jan. 19, 1931 in Palacios to the late Early Legg and Lel Evans Legg. She passed away Aug. 7, 2010 in Waco following an extended illness.

Glenith lived in Palacios her entire life until she moved to Wharton in 2004. She married Almon Billy Parker on Oct. 15, 1949 in Palacios and he preceded her in death on June 11, 1989. Glenith was a housewife who enjoyed reading books, working crossword puzzles and word searches, buying merchandise from catalogs, and loved to read her Bible multiple times a day. She was a member of the Peace Tabernacle Church in Wharton.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Burghardt; brothers Rev. Jesse A. Legg, Dan Legg, Ray Legg and Early James Legg; and grandchildren Keith Allen Parker and Stephen Bradley Parker.

She is survived by daughters Mary Alice Parker Luna and husband George, and Shirley Jean Barbee all of Waco; sons Billy Wayne Parker and wife De'Andrea of Carrollton and Johnie Almon Parker and wife Linda of Wharton; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Andrew Parker, Jonathan Parker, Covey Barbee, Ryan Luna, Chais Castro and Christian Vargas.
