Beallsville- Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Barkes, 96, former resident of Aldonia, died at 6 a.m. Thursday at the home of her son, Glenn, of Springfield, where she made her home the past 10 years.
Mrs. Barkes was born Oct. 9, 1866, near Aldonia, a daughter of Curtis and Mary Danford Wright.
She was a member of Home Wood Methodist Church of Aldonia.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn in whose home she died and Curtis of Hinsdale, Ill, five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Harper Campbell Funeral Home here.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. DST Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Jones officiating. Burial will be in Beallsville Cemetery.
