James E. Fenton, 75, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton Monday, Aug. 9. He was the husband of Marianne (Martin) Fenton. Born in Boston, he was raised in Roxbury and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. He earned an associate's degree from Boston University. Mr. Fenton was a resident of Stoughton for 36 years. He was a machinist for Ferguson Industries for the Blind for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed reading and communicating with his friends and family through correspondence tapes. In addition to his wife, Mr. Fenton is survived by his children, Carrie L. Morrison of Bellingham and James E. Fenton, Jr. of Middleboro. He was the brother of Lee Fenton of Stoughton, Herbert Fenton Jr. of Rockland, Michael Lee of Saugus and the late Patricia Hough-O'Handley. He is also survived by six grandchildren. Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton, Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 p.m. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
