Son of Charles Albert Snyder and Mary (Piatt) Snyder. He married Bertha Amanda Rasmussen about 1930. They were divorced and in 1965, he married widow Mabel Clara (Riggs) Polley.

SNYDER - Charles Joseph Snyder of 1345 ‘M' Street, Springfield, passed away January 25, 1974 at a local hospital at the age of 65. He was born April 13, 1908 at Cooperstown, North Dakota and has been a resident of this area for the past 20 years. He was a retired mill worker. He was united in marriage to Mabel Polley on May 15, 1965. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Kaye D. Snyder of Eugene; a daughter, Madrene LoEll Collins of Eugene; five grandchildren; three brothers: Paul and Wilson Snyder, both of Salem, Robert Snyder of Portland; five sisters: Hazel Kennedy of Lakeport, California, Grace Smith pf Valley city, North Dakota, Marian Mallory, Evelyn Snyder and Florence Snyder, all of Salem. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 29th at 10 a.m. in BUELL CHAPEL with Reverend Robert Gregory officiating. Private commitment, Springfield Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Heart Fund or the Marcola Church of Christ may be made in his name.
