Mrs. Anna Maria Melander, 68, of Gibbon, died Thursday, March 4, at the Gaylord Hospital, where she had been a patient for a week.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Chapel in Gibbon. The Rev. K. William Hagstrom officiated. Pall bearers were Raymond and Harold Melquist, Edward Lagerwall, George Johnson, Melvin Kaiser and David Carlson.
Mrs. Melander was born May 23, 1902, in Sweden to Mr. and Mrs. John Bergman. She came with her parents in 1912 to Minnesota. She was married Nov. 9, 1921, to Anton W. Melander at Ada. After their marriage they farmed in the Gibbon area. Her husband died in 1947.
For the last year and a half she had been employed by Hands Inc. of Winthrop.
Survivors include four children, Allen of Braham, Mrs. James (Marion) Alexander of Rialto, Calif., Lavern of Linden, Wis., and Marvin of Minneapolis; six grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters, Gust, Ludwig, and John Bergman and Mrs. Frank Sip of Ada and Mrs. Ida Kaiser of Western Springs, Ill.
