Murray served as a First Lieutenant & Pilot on C-46A #41-24694, India-China Wing, Air Transport Command, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Weber County, Utah prior to the war.

He attended Weber College and Utah State Agricultural College.

He enlisted in the Army on February 4, 1941, prior to the war in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Railroad clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

Murray was declared "Missing In Action" in the "Line Of Duty" when his C-46 crashed in the Burma-India region for unknown reasons during the war.

He had previously been awarded the Air Medal.

Service # 0-674496

His brother, PFC John Gray Jacobs, was also "Killed In Action" during the war in France.
