Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, he was not officially declared by the military as being dead until April 12, 1946.

Son of Emil Boening who resided in Frazer, Michigan.

Alger served as a Technical Sergeant & Radio Operator / Gunner on B-25D #41-30036, 501st Bomber Squadron, 345th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Macomb County, Michigan prior to the war.

B-25D #41-30036 took off, with a crew of 5 and other B-25's, from APO 713-1 on a strike mission. Bad weather was encounter and the formation was instructed to return to base. B-25D #41-30036 was last seen north of New Guinea and did not return to base. The entire crew was lost on this mission.

Alger was declared "Missing In Action" on this mission during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
