Frank Baumgartner, 71, died at his home on South Main street here late Monday afternoon. He had been ill for the past six months and had been confined to his bed for two months.
Frank George Baumgartner. the son or Frank and Elizabeth (Steineman) Baumgartner, was born In Woodbine township East of Elizabeth, on January 8, 1869, and always made his home In this community.
He was united in marriage to Miss Frances Ertmer on April 13, 1893, and the young couple made their home on a farm about three miles east of Elizabeth until 20 years ago when they moved to Elizabeth. Mr. Baumgartner served on the city council for over ten years and he was also associated with William Hoskins and Co. in charge of the yards for a number of years.
Besides his widow, he leaves three sons Benjamin, of Stockton, Illinois, Wii11am F. and Edward of Elizabeth, and eight grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Gottlieb Baumgartner of Fulda Minnesota, and one sister, Mrs. Frances Heidenreich,, of Rockford, Iowa, one half-brother, Joseph M. Baumgartner of Hanover, Illinois, and two half-sisters, Mrs. R. E. Tapley and Mrs. Raymond Bon-jour, both of Elizabeth. His parents, one brother, one sister and one half-sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services was held from the home to the St Mary's Catholic church in Elizabeth at 9:30 o'clock on Wednesday morning with the pastor the Rev. B. C. Jaeger. officiating. Burial was made In SL Mary's cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Wand, Ralph Wand, Robert Wand, Will Wand, and Will Ertmer, and Joseph Ertmer Jr.
