A sad telegraph message came Saturday evening, making the third McDonough lad who has given his life for his country. He was Private Louis Barrows, who was with a tank division in France in the invasion. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Floyd Bonner, Mrs. Ralph Ardron of McDonough, Mrs. Helen Gilliand of Greene, also three brothers, Floyd and Leonard of McDonough, and Howard, whose home is in Norwich but who at the present time is somewhere in India. Several nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends mourn his passing. Extra sympathy goes to Howard, and all the families. (Published in the Norwich Sun, Page 7, Friday, July 7, 1944)
As a side note, Louis was a relative of my husbands. Thanks in advance, #47079039.
