George was born the 19th of September 1846, at LaPorte, Indiana. His parents were Jacob STACKHOUSE, of Pennsylvania, and Caroline HART, of Kentucky.

He was married to Charlotte Coryell, in 1869, and they had three children together. His wife was still married to her husband, Dennis, and got a divorce in 1871.

On the January, 30th 1880, his second marriage was to Telia JACKSON, in Kansas.

Their children were: Maggie, Dora Elizabeth, George Thomas, and Grover Cleveland. Maggie died in infancy.

He was a stone mason by trade. He came West in 1890, worked on the Salt Lake Temple as a stone mason.

He moved to Goldendale in 1896, where he spent the rest of his life.

During his residence, he served the city as Marshall for a number of years. He was also an Alderman.

He died the 25th of January, 1920 at the age of 73 years. Funeral services were by the Methodist church.
