Services for Margaret Ruth Hugon, 94, of Lufkin, will be held in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Hugon was born July 21, 1918, in Gainesville and passed away March 24, 2013, in a local nursing facility.

Funeral services for Margaret Ruth Hugon, 94, of Lufkin, will be held at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Reverend Walter Futch officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband of 51 years, Felix Hugon, who preceded her in death on June 12, 1989.

Margaret Ruth King Hugon was born in Gainesville, Texas on July 21, 1918 and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Eva Lynn (French) and Walter Elmer King.

She is survived by her son, Paul Hugon and wife Connie; daughter, Evalynne Bartee and husband, James; grandchildren, Chris Hugon, Mandy Price, Josh Rippel and wife April; Felix Rippel and wife Jessica; great-grandchildren, Christian Price, Cole Price, Kirstin Price, Adrian Hugon, Max Hugon, Ali Hugon, Jadabelle Henson and Stella Grace Rippel.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Margaret Hugon was employed by the United States Government for twenty years and was instrumental in implementing computer systems at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was on the leading edge of computer programming from the late 1950's as a computer systems analyst until her retirement in 1975. During that time, she published several manuals of operation in the field. She also taught computer courses at the Pentagon in Washington, D. C. in the early 1960's. She was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
