Mattie Lee (Garner) Wolfenbarger
Mrs. Mattie Lee Wolfenbarger, 76, died at 1:40 a.m. Thursday in the sanatorium at Mount Vernon, where she had been a patient a week.
Mrs. Wolfenbarger was born July 7, 1887 at Longview, Mo., to Elijah J. Garner and Sarah E. (Holloway) Garner. She was a lifelong resident of the Crossroads community, south of Stella. She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Claude E. Wolfenbarger; two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Link, Goodman; and Mrs. Alta Laughlin, Stella; a son, Wayne Wolfenbarger, Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, George Garner, Chowchilla, Cal.; and Tom Garner, Windsor, Mo.; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Crossroads Baptist Church with the Rev. Milton Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery at Stella under direction of the Pogue Funeral Home of Wheaton.
