William Alfred Waller born 6th Jan 1893 at Redenhall, baptised 28th May 1893. Son of Jacob and Mary Ann. In 1901 the family had seven children, William is the middle child, they are living at Redenhall Road, and Jacob is a stockman on a farm. On the 1911 census William is an agricultural labourer, as are his two older brothers, living with their parents and three other siblings at Lush Bush. The mother, Mary Ann, died in April 1930, aged 76, and Jacob in May 1933, aged 78.

Private 1617, 1st/4th Battalion Norfolk Regiment.
His attestation papers show that he joined the Territorial Force in Harleston on 5th February 1912, for a 4 year service period, at the age of 19 years. His trade was 'bricklayer's labourer' in the employment of Mr. Reynolds.
He was killed in action at Gallipoli, aged 22, and buried at the 7th Field Ambulance Cemetery, Anzac, Gallipoli, Canakkale, Turkey.
William is commemorated on the Harleston War Memorial.
