Sam was my Grandfather, father to James Raymond McCullough,who was my father. Sam was married to Mamie Laura Reynolds ,mother of James Raymond McCullough. Sam was in WWI in the Army, he was born in Ivey ,Wilkinson, Ga. and died in Augusta , Richmond , Ga . in the VA hospital of TB on June 3, 1946 at the age of 50. He spelled his family name McCullough , but on his grave his last name is spelled McCullar , the way his parents R.E. and Mattie spelled it.
