Funeral for Annella (Dunaway) Brixey, 77, of Kamay was Aug. 9 at the Kamay First Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Mitchell and Adam Hatfield officiating. Burial followed at Bluegrove Cemetery in Bluegrove.
Brixey died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, in Wichita Falls. Born Oct. 14, 1932, in Decatur to J.C. and Hilda (Rhine) Dunaway, she married her college sweetheart, Thomas Brixey, Feb. 21, 1952, in Decatur. They met while attending Decatur Baptist College. She worked for City National Bank in Wichita Falls then for the Wichita County Water Improvement District No. 2 for 27 years where she was a tax assessor and tax collector. She was a member of the Texas Cattle Women's association and a member of the Kamay First Baptist Church where she served as the church organist. She is survived by her husband; sons, John Brixey and wife, Cathy, of Fredrick, S.D., James Brixey and wife, Debbie, of Kamay, and Jeryl Brixey and wife, Kristi, of Comanche; daughter, Lee Ann Beall and husband, Charles, of Ada, Okla.; brother, Jerry Dunaway and wife, Gail, of Farmers Branch; grandchildren, J.C. Brixey, T.R. Brixey, Rusty Brixey, R.L. Brixey, B.J. Brixey, Audrey Beall, Kayla Brixey, J.F. Brixey, Lee Brixey, Spencer Beall, Olivia Beall, Kaytlin Brixey, Kamryn Brixey; and a great-grandchild, Jerek Brixey.The family requests memorials be made to American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA, 22311
