James Hawthorne Trimble, son of Robert Trimble and Elizabeth Hawthorne, was born ca 1835 in AR and died after the 1880 census. His family was living in Buffalo Fork, Marion Co, AR at that time.
James married a widow, Sarah A Avey, approximately 15 years his senior, ca 1856/7. Sarah had four children from prior marriage: Elizabeth, Mary, Rufus and Henry.
Two children were born to James and Sarah. (James Irvin b. 1858 and William m b. 1859).

James volunteered for serivice in the CSA Army on 28 Jan 1862 and served with Co E, 27th Ark Inf until 8 Jun 1865. He was a POW from 20 May 1865 until paroled on 8 Jun 1865.
Sarah apparently died while James was away in service.
No record of her death or burial found.

James married Malissa _______ ca 1865 and four children were born to this family. (Michael b. 1867, Sarah b. 1870 and died at a young age, Robert H b. 1872 and Thomas b. 1877/8).

According to family members, James in buried in unmarked gravesite in Burnt School House Cemetery, Baxter Co, AR. No record of his burial and wife Malissa (nor son Michael or daughter Sarah) has been found.
