Sgt. Peter Ratoff was born in Sarmara Russia to a Jewish family, fleeing his homeland during the Bolshevik revolution, he resettled in France, emigrated to the USA in 1936, and recieved his American citizenship in 1941. He was survived by his mother Sophie Ratoff of Hollywood, CA and his brother Gregory Ratoff a Hollywood film director, actor, and producer.
