Second Wife: Jane (Douglas) Pierce

L. J. Pierce was born in Iredell Co. N.C. June 11, 1830. He moved with his parents to this county in 1831.
In 1852 he married Sarah Cobb. To their union was born 6 children – four boys and two girls.
He married Jane F. Douglas in 1868 after the death of his 1st wife. To their union was born nine children – 6 boys and 3 girls.
He had a stroke of paralysis on Dec. 12 and died three days later. He was 68 years old.
Leaves wife, 2 brothers, one sister and thirty-three grandchildren. Twelve of his children survive him.
Mr. Pierce is laid to rest in the Pierce Cemetery.
