He was ordained in Aug. 1856, in Saco, ME, his mother preaching the sermon to a vast assembly of people in the town hall. He was of fine build, very distinctive voice, with both his father and mother's qualities intertwined. He preached in N.H. and Maine with good success, was loved and esteemed by many."
