Lt. Alexander Blair Thaw II was the son of Benjamin Thaw (memorial 50571775) and Elma Ellsworth Dows (memorial 33631305), a prominent family in Pennsylvania. He died while serving with the 135th Aero Squadron in France. He was survived by his parents, as well as brothers Stephen D. Thaw, Benjamin Thaw Jr., and William Thaw II (serving with the Esquadrille Lafayette and 103rd Aero Squadron); and a sister, Henrietta (Thaw) Slade.
