To the memory of Private First Class Robert Fulton Adams, US Army, 90th Division, 360th Infantry Regiment, World War 1. He died in World War 1 on October 14, 1918 in France.

PFC Adams was born on March 14, 1887 in the town of Carmine, Fayette County, Texas.

Recently this photo of him, in this unique picture frame came up for sale on the internet. It had his name on the back of it, and a few more pieces on information. From that I was able to positively retrace his identity.
This unique picture frame tells a little of his fate! The picture frame is in an artistic design of an artillery missile/shell/bullet. And the Gold Star is a very clear indicator that he died in war (the “Gold Star Mothers” & Gold Star programs during WW1 & WW2).

The tribute to him I created is based around the “Gold Star”. Briefly, during WW1 & WW2, when a family had a member who was sent to war they would frequently display a flag in their window with a Blue Star. However, if their family member died, the flag would be changed to one with a gold star to indicate their son had died.

PFC Robert Fulton Adams is buried in St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France. There are 4,153 Americans buried there, and 284 Americans missing in action (we know they were there, but their remains were never found or positively identified).

Hundreds of thousands of Americans have died for the United States in wars throughout our history. Without their sacrifices, we would not have the freedoms we have today.

Today we can see, and remember PFC Robert Fulton Adams ~ an American Hero!
