Funeral Services for Frank Sadilek to be Held Friday

The death of Frank Sadilek casts a shadow of sorrow over the community this week. He has been a long, patient sufferer with cancer and death relieved him from his suffering Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock. He was taken to Omaha several weeks ago where he underwent an operation for the dreaded disease. His desire to spend his last days at home were granted and he was brought home a week ago.

Mr. Sadilek was considered one of the best farmers in the community. His farm is located six miles northwest of Blue Hill.

At the time of his death, Mr. Sadilek was 54 years, 1 month and 24 days old. Besides his faithful wife he leaves several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic church this Friday morning at 10 o'clock Father Hasler officiating.

Frank Sadilek was born in Bohemia Dec. 17, 1872 (1873?) and came to America with his parents when 7 years old. They settled on a farm 10 miles south of Bladen where they lived until 1908 when they moved to the farm six miles northwest of Blue Hill.

Mr. Sadilek was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Sidelo (Sidlo) on Nov. 5, 1894. To this union were born two children, one dying in infancy and Miss Mary answering the call at the age of 21, the year following her graduation from the Immaculate Conception Academy at Hastings.

While Mr. Sadilek had been ailing for a number of years, it was the last six months that a rapid decline was noticeable. He was a patient sufferer with cancer and he gave up the struggle for life on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 1928, being 55 years 1 month and 20 days old at the time of his death.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, two sisters, Mrs. John Pavelka of Bladen and Sister Rogata of LaFoliette, Ind. The latter visited him at Omaha when he was at the Wise Memorial hospital.

Funeral services were held at Holy Trinity Catholic church last Friday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Father Hasler officiating. Burial was at the Blue Hill cemetery beside his children.
