Harry Noel Alexander born on May 21, 1920 in Miller, Nebraska. The second son and child of William and Ethel Alexander. They moved to Ukiah, California, in 1938.
On July 31, 1940, he enlisted at Hamilton Field, Marin County California as a fireman. April 5, 1941, married Alice Lucille Haas of Ukiah at San Rafael, California.
August 10, 1943 their daughter Harriet L. Alexander born in San Rafael. February 8, 1944 promoted to 2nd Lieutenant upon completion of flight school. July 27, 1944 assigned as a co-pilot to the 566th Bomb Squadron of the 389th Bomb Group Heavy Hethel Field AAF Station 114 APO 558 England.
November 11, 1944 promoted to 1st Lieutenant. Between August 6, 1944, and November 26, 1944, flew 21 missions. His aircraft went down during the 21st mission.
Four of the crew survived.
