Miss Bessie Wade lost her life in the fearful accident when the Odd Fellow three story building on the McKinney Square collapsed, killing 50-60 people. She was a valued employee of the McKinney Telephone Co. She was 22 years of age and her people resided at Yantis, Wood Count. Her mother is Mrs. L.J. Smith. Her step-brother, J.A. Smith of Dallas, arrived in McKinney last night, coming up as early as he heard of the sad accident. Miss Wade's body was taken to Alba on the 3 o'clock Katy today, where it will be buried. Miss Wade had been working for the telephone company here since December, but prior to this worked here for one year. She was an efficient and painstaking operator. Beautiful floral offerings were sent by Dallas operators and the operators at McKinney.
