ULLIN - Anna Mae Irby, 93, formerly of Tamms, died at 8:45 p.m., Wednesday January 25, 2006, at the Day Star Care Center in Cairo.

She was born January 16, 1913, in Elco, to Fred and Cordelia (Oller) Heater.

She married Robert Irby; he preceded her in death.

She was the oldest member of the Tamms Community Church, having belonged for 78 years. She and her husband owned and operated Irby's Grocery in Tamms for 50 years. She was a member of the Tamms Senior Citizens and the kitchen band.

She is survived by four nieces, Margaret Ann Grace of Villa Ridge, Melinda Bigham of Tamms, Dinah Washow of Carpentersville, and Pat Ballard of Lexington, Kentucky; one nephew, Larry Rowland of Manlis; one sister-in-law, Beulah Ford of Tamms; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Mildred Grace; and two brothers, Norman "Duke" Heater and Jesse "Knox" Heater.

Services will at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2006, in Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating.

Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Dongola. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin.

Memorials may be made to Cache Valley Apartments Residents Activity and Needs Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
