He was born June 23, 1932, in Galesburg, the son of Wesley F. and Lola VanPelt Adcock. On Oct. 11, 1953, he married Elsie Hilgren in Abingdon.
Mr. Adcock served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years during the Korean War. He worked at the Disco, Ill., elevator and retired from Dadants in Dallas City. He was a longtime member of the LaHarpe Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Cheryl Sickels of LaHarpe and Diane (Sheldon) Avery of Glenburn, N.D.; one son, Rick (Rhonda) Adcock of LaHarpe; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-granddaughters, one stepgreat-granddaughter; his mother, Lola Heimer of Abingdon; and one brother, Don (Ola) Adcock of Abingdon.
He was preceded in death by one son, Randy Adcock; one grandson, Erick Adcock; and his father.
Graveside services with military rites, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at LaHarpe Cemetery with Evan Sheckler officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe where the family will meet with friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. A memorial has been established.
