William Henry Bivens, was married first to Mary Jane CRAWFORD Bivens, born 28 May 1854 died 1894. There is a fieldstone beside the grave of William Henry Bivens in the Brashears Cemetery that family members say is the grave of Mary Jane. After the death of Mary Jane, William Henry Bivens married 2nd to Cassandra Ann THOMAS Walker (1868-1922).

MYSTERY: William Henry Bivens has a tombstone here in the Brashears Cemetery, and supposedly there was also a tombstone for him in the Stringtown Cemetery in Newton County, Arkansas. The Stringtown Cemetery is abandoned and only contained a few graves. I have not seen a picture of his tombstone there. Family records and a newspaper article show that William Henry Bivens died at the home of his daughter, Laura Mallie BIVENS Hall, in Combs and that he was buried in the Brashears Cemetery. There is no explanation why he also had a tombstone in the Stringtown Cemetery in Newton County. His brother, Ulysses S. Bivens, did live at Stringtown and was postmaster there at Little Buffalo post office. No other members of the Bivens family are buried in the Stringtown Cemetery.
