He was born in Standish, a son of Clarence E. and Ella F. Meserve Davis, and attended Standish and Cornish schools.
He worked 10 years at North Conway Car Wash, five years at Porter Mobil and 20 years at The Tire Shed of Kezar Falls. He retired in 1993 because of failing health.
Mr. Davis was a member of the Redman and the Kezar Falls Volunteer Fire Department at Kezar Falls.
He enjoyed collecting model cars and woodworking.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Idolyn Mason Davis; a son, Richard J. of Everett, Mass.; two daughters, Deborah J. Mitchell of Charlestown, Mass., and Julie F. Lombard of Auburn; two brothers, Clarence E. Jr. of Cumberland and Robert of Cornish; and 10 grandchildren.
A spring graveside service will be held. Arrangements are by Neal & York Funeral Home.
