bombardment mission to Tokyo from the Marianas Islands, target the Musashino
Aircraft Engine Factory, was shot down by enemy Ki-44 fighter and spiraled into the sea 20 miles from shore, with the loss of all eleven crew. With the 870th Bomb Squadron, 497th Bomb Group.
