Sarah E. McCoskey, age 82 died at her home in Scottsburg, Sunday evening May 9th.

She had not been well for some time, but her death was attributed to the infirmities of age. She was the daughter of Joseph Johnson,and the widow of Lewis (sic) McCoskey . She livid with her husband on a farm west of Scottsburg for many years and following his death she moved to Scottsburg where she had lived with her son. Rev. Leslie McCoskey.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank Arbuckley, R.F.D. Scottsburg, Mrs. Arthur Sutton and two sons Alva E. McCoskey and Rev. Leslie McCoskey. both of Scottsburg.

One of the pioneer mothers of this section, who helped develop the wilderness into the fine farming country it is to day, she was a loving wife and mother and lived her religion in her daily life.

Rev. David Owen conducted the funeral at the Stewart Memorial home Tuesday afternoon, with the burial at the Beech Grove, Washington county cemetery.
