ALVA JAMES "JIM" MAYS JR., 74, of Huntington, husband of Jewell H. Swann Mays, died Saturday in St. Mary?s Hospital. He was a barber and owner of Mays Barber Shop and a U.S. Navy veteran. Also surviving are one daughter, Kathy Elaine Thomason; one son, Timothy James Mays of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters, Elenora Lesler of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jill Alexander of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Welte Mays of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Jack Mays of Goldsboro, N.C. Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Farmdale Church of Christ, Barboursville; burial in Woodmere Memorial Park Cemetery, Huntington
