Records show Margaret's parents as John Runion and Nancy Caroline Johnson Runion, but most researchers have posted her marker birthdate inscription, which is in error. She could not have had Margaret at 9 years of age - she was 46 in the 1850 census, so was born ca. 1803 or '04.

Margaret's siblings in the 1850 census were James M., John, Catherine, and George W., and there may have been others before '50, and more after. (Note from Marian Presswood.)
