This is from Bill Barlow's Budget, September 3, 1890:

CALLED AWAY

Alida Adams, wife of Mr. John Adams of this city, died on Sunday morning last of nervous prostration, the result, mainly, of weeks of sleepless vigil beside the bedside of her sick son, Earl. Deceased was 40 years of age, a devoted wife and mother and exemplary christian lady, and her death has brought sadness to the hearts of a wide circle of friends. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the husband, and children, who mourn her loss.

The funeral took place from the house on Monday, under the direction of Ladies Aid, of which society the deceased was an active and valued member.
