In ill health for seven years from a kidney ailment, Ben Alexander, 69, died Monday night, February 19, 1940 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he had been taken Sunday evening.
He had been bedfast 3 months. Engaged in farming, he had lived in this vicinity for 25 years, moving into town a few years ago. Surviving are his widow and 2 sons, Albert of Fairmount and Russel of Indianola, and 4 grandchildren.
Last rights will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at N.E. Carrington Funeral home. Burial at Greenview Cemetery, Fairmount.
