John Eden, 83, died at his home southwest of Lone Tree Wednesday evening. He was born on May 10, 1857, in Wisconsin, and married on July 1, 1880, to Sarah Ellen Drorbaugh at Iowa City. She preceded him in death several years ago. On August 12, 1923, he married Minnie Eden in Hutchinson, Kan. He is survived by his widow and these children by his first marriage; George and Elmer, both of Lone Tree; Mrs. Alta Hendrick of Kalona, Howard of Bonaparte, and Mrs. Myrtle Vietheer of Tetalume, Calif. He was a member of the M. E. Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Swank church with the Rev. S. Ward Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in the Swank cemetery.
