Obituary - Kaysville-- Beatrice Adams Johnson, age 89, passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000 in Brigham City, Utah.

She was born Dec. 20, 1910, in Parowan, Utah, the daughter of Thomas Davenport and Maria Luella Redd Adams. She married Morris R. Johnson on Jan. 11, 1936, in Byron, Wyoming; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Morris passed away March 9, 1999.

Bea was reared in her loved home of Parowan, graduating from Parowan High School. She attended Dixie College, and became an elementary school teacher. The family settled in Kaysville in 1949.

Bea served in all auxiliaries in the LDS Church, and loved teaching the Cultural Refinement lessons in Relief Society. She was a member of the DUP, Writer's Club, and Lantern Club. Pressed flowers, poetry and pioneering ancestry were her trademarks. No one savored a sunset or mountain scene like Bea. She was a master storyteller, teacher and author, and she delighted children of all ages. God reached into many lives with a warm hug, hot meal, and a bit of wisdom through Momma Bea. She's our honey-taffy grandma.

She lives on in the lives of her two sons and two daughters, M. Ray (Sharlene) Johnson, Ammon, ID; Daniel A. (Miken) Johnson, Provo; Patricia Bea (John) Steiner, Kaysville; Debbie Johnson, Brigham City; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Grace Tanner and Christmas Carol Wright. Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Morris R. Johnson; a great-grandson, Adam Ray Johnson; three sisters and six brothers.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 31, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville East Stake Center, 201 South 600 East. Friends and family may call Sunday, at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday, 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
