David E. Roderick was born October 9, 1952, in Greenwich, Connecticut to Dr. James E. and Nancy Roderick. He died March 29, 2010, in Salina, Kansas, after a battle with cancer.

Dave grew up in Salina, Kansas, graduated from Salina High School and then from the University of Kansas.

After college he was involved in real estate brokerage in California for many years. He then founded AVID Sportswear, a golf apparel company. He later founded Newport Sportswear. Dave was a resident of both Redondo Beach, California, and Shanghai, China.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Tomlinson Roderick. He is survived by his wife, Lany; daughters, Alexandra and Natalie Roderick; stepdaughter, Stella Dong; the mother of his daughters, Stephanie Roderick; his father, Dr. James E. Roderick; siblings Rees Olander, Tom Roderick, Melinda Besnoin, and Richard Roderick; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held at Christ Episcopal Cathedral in Salina.
