Clara Edna Bass Scott was the daughter of William Edwin (Ed) and Susan Iona Chisum Bass and wife of Isaac Leonard Foster (Len) Scott. Clara Edna Bass and Isaac Leonard Foster (Len) Scott were married December 28, 1898 in Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico.

Len and Clara were expecting their first child at the time of her death, and cause of her death was from smallpox. After Clara's death, Len took her wedding ring along with a horse that he had gotten for a wedding present from Clara's father, William Edwin (Ed) Bass, back to him and Len Scott then headed for Morenci, Greenlee County, Arizona where he then became sheriff.
