Second Lieutenant, 781st Tank Battalion, U.S. Army. Son of Raymond Adolpheus Barrickman and Viola A Barrickman. Entered the service from Tennessee 25 Jan 1942 and died 06 Jan 1945. Awarded the Purple Heart. The 781st was fighting hard Jan 4-6 retaking a village called Wingen-sur-Moder and they lost 2 tanks and 4 men to German Panzerfaust teams. It is likely that this is how he died.
He worked as a shipping clerk in a milling company in 1940. His service record indicated that he was an "unskilled heat treater, annealer and
temperer."
