Jonas Petersson emigrated to America in 1890 (with his mother and siblings?) when he was 16 years old. He took the name Holmstedt as had his brothers before him. He returned to Sweden in 1908 to marry Lisa Karin Holst, his half cousin, on November 8th. A month later the couple returned to America. Their first son, Lennart, was born at Stanton Iowa in 1909 and their second son, Erik, was born in Nebraska in 1910 . By 1912 or 1913 the family returned to Sweden where Jonas continued to work as a farmer. Lennert returned to America in 1930 and died in Seattle Washington in 1956. The others remained in Sweden.
On the gravestone of Jonas and Karin Holmstedt are these words: "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" Matthew 5:8
