Walter was raised by a very strict father. He married his first wife and a few years after the last child was born he left his wife. The chidren had not seen their father for years. He later married Rose Barnet and together they created yet another family. Rose divorced Walter later in their marriage and Walter never remarried. He did get in contact with all of his children and remained in contact until his death.

There was a time when Beulah saw her father on the street. She was an adult and said hi. Walter did not know who she was. This upset her deeply. The older children were raised soley by their mother, Pearl, who did an excellent job. They were raised in the Seventh Day Adventist Church their entire lives.

Walter was a very religious man who maintained his connection with God through the 7th Day Adventists Church.

In Walter's later years he did make amends to all of his children. His daughter, Rosella, told me that he had such an amazing sense of humor. She loved him dearly which tells me he was a very good father. Walter was kind and gentle and had no enemies that his children ever were aware.

He lived his entire life in Northern Kentucky. Most of which was in Pendleton and Campbell Counties. There was a time that Beulah Daniel Traylor Simpson lived next to Walter and his second family. My mother, Irene and her sister Kathleen, spent a few years playing with Walter's second family.
