I Have Not Forgotten You. Martin, you and I spent many hours together on many army bases. I remember sitting on the corner of German Hill Rd., in Baltimore, as you quizzed me on all the kinds of cars going by. Your Mom and my mom were like sisters. You had such a hard life. I remember you eating chocolate sandwiches. I really have never been able to get over your loss and I think of you often. My dad came back from Vietnam in one piece why couldn't you? I will always remember you Marty. Many names on the wall are without a face or a story but this one, Marty Arbeit, has a face I remember well and a proud story. He was like a son to my parents, Jean and Chuck Parker and like a brother to me and my sister and brothers. He loved his family his friends and his country. In a time when we were in an unpopular conflict he went BACK to Vietnam to take care of and guide his men. He was and is a hero and I have missed him ever since he died. Rest in peace my brother.
